New-client RN assessment and care planning
$149Every new client begins with a separate in-home visit by a registered nurse — typically 1–2 hours. The RN assesses your needs, documents relevant health context, and develops a proposed care plan with appropriate caregiver assignment. The $149 fee applies to this appointment. Active clients continuing care into another year receive an annual RN reassessment associated with the annual fee; the RN assessment is not the only RN oversight provided during care.
- The RN assessment is a standalone appointment — it is not subject to the four-hour caregiver visit minimum.
- Paying for the RN assessment does not obligate you to purchase caregiver visits, guarantee caregiver placement, or guarantee a specific start date.
- Former short-term clients whose care has ended are not automatically charged an annual fee. OWNER CONFIRM: the precise annual renewal date, how the fee applies when an inactive former client returns, when the fee is collected, and refund terms.
Caregiver visit rates
Caregiver visits are billed at an hourly rate with a four-hour minimum per visit. There is no weekly-hours minimum. The applicable rate is confirmed in your written estimate.
Everyday home care & personal support

Flexible scheduling — no weekly minimum
Clients may need support once, occasionally, for a short recovery, or on an ongoing basis. We offer three scheduling approaches — the right fit depends on your care plan and caregiver availability.
One-time & occasional support
A single visit or occasional help as needed — for a specific task, a recovery day, or a one-time situation.
Short-term recovery support
A defined period of more frequent visits during post-surgical recovery, a new diagnosis adjustment, or postpartum healing.
Ongoing home care
Regular scheduled visits — weekly, several times a week, or daily — for clients with continuing support needs.
How clients pay
Nurse Sister Friend is a private-pay agency. We do not accept or bill Medicare or Medicaid, and these programs will not cover our services. Pay securely online through Stripe using the payment options shown at checkout. Many clients also use one or more of the following supplemental sources:
Long-term care insurance
Some long-term care insurance policies cover non-medical home care. Contact your insurer to confirm whether your policy applies and what documentation is required. We cannot guarantee reimbursement.
HSA / FSA accounts
HSA and FSA accounts may be applicable for qualifying home care expenses. Confirm eligibility with your plan administrator — we cannot guarantee coverage.
Veterans benefits
Some veterans and surviving spouses may qualify for VA home care benefits. Contact us to discuss your situation. We cannot guarantee eligibility or coverage.
